Playing the bass in a band usually requires more: The bass player and the drummer sets the pace and the tempo, but the bass has more tones than a druml. Also has he to be very diplomatic to solve the conflicts in the band, between the melodical issues and the beats.
Then again ... the glory always goes to the lead vocalist or to any dancer of exceptional skills, so the bass player must be of a very humble nature.
The study didn't show wether it was beneficial to be a bassist from the girls point of view.
